Brain Bleeds & The Death of Goldilocks

"To identify and understand the problem is to know the solution" - Something I say a lot in my up and coming book "Everything You Want, As Fast As Possible".

So let's start there. What's keeping everyone stuck?

Brain Bleeds:

⚠️The first major problem is something I call "brain bleeds" where you're leaving your thought loops and systems open and waste a MASSIVE amount of energy overthinking and worrying, or switching  tasks without wrapping things up.

If the kitchen is a mess when you're done cooking, you probably have this problem.

Likewise, if your desk is always a mess, you have 20+ tabs open when you're working, you're always stressed out, overwhelmed, or distracted... or the very idea of starting a big project brings on a significant source of dread... you likely have this issue.

It'll also lead to burnout, weight gain, and low energy by keeping your cognitive load and cortisol levels jacked through the roof, and make you LESS EFFECTIVE at pretty much everything you do.

The Death of Goldilocks:


This is one of the most serious and nefarious issues of our time,

torturing countless people and destroying the dreams of countless more.

Nearly everyone has experienced its impact in some way, so let's make this one our first real focus.

“The Goldilocks” zone, as I call it, is the place in motivation theory where things are “just right”. Exciting enough to be interesting, but simple enough to seem doable.

The problem is, that everything in our culture seeks to destroy and control our brains. 

From consuming 2 hours of 30-second TikTok videos, to doom scrolling though endless walls of information and short videos; We've reconditioned our brains with click bait, overtaxed our dopamine systems, and lost all meaningful depth and focus in our lives. 

That’s what “The Death of Goldilocks” is. People have overlapped and destroyed their perspective, so that the "Goldilocks" zone of motivation, where things are "just right", no longer exists... and all we're left with is a little A.D.D. crack monkey for a brain.

It's the death of meaningful focus, motivation, and consistency:

(and it's killing people)

So what does this look like?

Well, when you go to form a goal, like eating healthy, working out, writing a book, or starting a business etc. Things are either too simple to SEEM effective, or too complicated to SEEM worth the effort.

The typical expression is being low energy + busy while not making a lot of progress in your life, until you get locked into this horrible catch 22 where NOTHING will ever SEEM like it's ever going to work.

Then the spiral of click bait, social media, avoidance, and escapism continues until we become so heavily conditioned that must people end up "just sort of stuck in limbo"

If it gets REALLY out of hand:

Your life can lose all joy and meaning, become a tedious grind, and then the age old "quiet life of desperation" ensues.
